Overview:

The Distribution manager's responsibilities include managing daily logistic operations, ensuring timely and efficient product delivery, and optimizing distribution processes. As a Distribution Manager, you will lead a team of distribution staff, coordinate with various departments, and implement strategies to improve efficiency and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee daily distribution operations, ensuring efficient and timely delivery of products.

• Develop and implement distribution strategies to optimize logistics and reduce costs.

• Manage and mentor a team of distribution staff, including hiring, training, and performance evaluations.

• Foster a positive, collaborative work environment promoting teamwork and high morale.

• Conduct regular team meetings to communicate distribution goals, updates, and feedback.

• Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices to enhance efficiency and reduce waste.

• Promote a safety culture by enforcing safety protocols and conducting regular safety inspections.

• Ensure compliance with all relevant safety and company policies.

• Coordinate with production and customer service departments to ensure timely and accurate deliveries.

• Address and resolve any distribution-related customer issues promptly and effectively.

• Prepare and maintain accurate records of distribution activities, including daily reports, shipment logs, and performance metrics.

• Communicate distribution status and any issues to senior management regularly.

• Ensure compliance with DOT laws and regulations.

• Optimize shipping routes and negotiate with common carriers.

• Oversee and manage vehicle maintenance of our company fleet.

• Assist with bi-annual plant inventories.

• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience as a Dispatch Manager or a similar position.

• Solid knowledge of logistics procedures and supply chain management.

• Proficiency in using logistics software for workflow organization.

• Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.

• Strong communication and leadership abilities.

• Active listener with the capacity for multitasking and critical thinking.

• Familiarity with DOT regulations and standards.

• Ability to oversee capacity planning and scheduling for various work order types.

• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
